DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils linebacker David Helton was named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week on Tuesday following his 14-tackle outing against Virginia.

The six-foot-four-inch, 240-pound senior defender helped the Blue Devils to a 20-13 win over Virginia on Saturday as Duke limited the Cavaliers to just three total points after halftime.

On the season, Helton has amassed a team-high 69 tackles and ranks third in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with an average of 9.9 stops per game.

The win over the Cavaliers pushed Duke to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in ACC play.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a donation of $1,000 to the general scholarship fund at Duke to recognize Helton’s performance.
