DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils center Matt Skura was named the Co-ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on Monday.

Skura received the league honor, the first of his career, after paving the way for the offense to record 334 total yards, including 155 on the ground, in a 20-13 win against Virginia on Saturday.

Skura’s offensive line did not surrender one tackle for lost yardage against the Cavaliers, who entered the contest ranked 14th among FBS programs in TFL per game with 7.70.

He helped the Duke offensive line not surrender a sack to Virginia, which was ranked fifth in the FBS with 3.83 quarterback drops per game.

The Blue Devils offensive line is currently tied for the FBS lead in fewest sacks allowed per game (0.57) and fewest tackles for loss per game allowed (2.86).

With his recognition, Skura continued a trend of weekly award winners from Duke as one honoree has been named for the last five weeks which the team has played.

True freshman running back Shaun Wilson was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 15, redshirt senior Takoby Cofield was the offensive lineman on Sept. 22 and redshirt junior safety Jeremy Cash was the co-defensive back on Sept. 29 and the defensive back on Oct. 13.

Going back to 2013, Duke has received 13 ACC honors the last 16 weeks in which the league has presented awards.

The ACC’s other weekly honors included Pittsburgh defensive back Reggie Mitchell, specialist Ryan Winslow and offensive lineman T.J. Clemmings, North Carolina offensive back Marquise Williams and receiver Ryan Switzer, Florida State linebacker Terrance Smith and offensive lineman Tre Jackson, Louisville rookie A.J. Long and Syracuse defensive lineman Robert Welsh.
