GREENSBORO, NC – The North Carolina Tar Heels lived to fight another day, pulling off a final-minute 60-56 decision over Florida State at the 2025 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament played at Greensboro Coliseum on Friday.

Tied at 54-54, guard Reniya Kelly (11 points) put fifth-seeded UNC ahead by two with 1:04 remaining.

A missed layup by Makayla Timpson (15 points) with 45 seconds remaining was the closest the fourth-seeded Seminoles got after Kelly added a jumper with 20 seconds to go.

Despite two good free throws from Ta’Nya Latson (13 points), Lanie Grant (6 points) matched both, keeping the margin wide enough to deny the Seminoles a chance to tie or win.

The win advanced the Tar Heels to the Tournament semifinal on Saturday at Noon, to face the winner of top seed NC State and ninth seed Georgia Tech.
