Wolfpack runs past Morgan State in 94-52 win

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State Wolfpack women’s basketball team holds a perfect 4-0 record so far under new head coach Wes Moore.

The Wolfpack easily defeated the visiting Morgan State Bears, 94-52, at Reynolds Coliseum on Monday and marked the third straight season during which it has started the season at 4-0.

NC State’s offensive output was powered by group of four players who finished with double-digit scoring totals that included Kody Burke(23 points, 9 rebounds), Markeisha Gatling (14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist), Breezy Williams (13 points, 7 rebounds) and forward Lakeesa Daniel (13 points, 7 rebounds).

NC State got off to a quick start and eventually extended a 12-3 lead to a 45-22 halftime advantage before taking off and leading by as many as 45 points with just over a minute to play in the game.

The Wolfpack finished the game shooting 55 percent from the field while holding Morgan State to a 39 percent performance from the same range.

NC State now prepares to extend its win streak further when it tips off against the Tulane Green Wave at Reyonolds on Sunday.
