GREENSBORO, N.C. North Carolina Tar Heels lineman Landon Turner was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Lineman of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.

It was the third selection for Turner as an ACC Player of the Week this season, an honor decided by a 14-member media panel.

The six-foot-four-inch, 325-pound senior right guard graded out at 95 percent and posted eight knockdown blocks in North Carolina’s 26-13 win over Virginia on Saturday.

The Tar Heels averaged 6.6 yards per play in posting 422 yards of total offense, as Turner paved the way for Elijah Hood to rush for 101 yards and a pair of touchdown runs.

That performance marked the sixth time in seven games the Tar Heels have played this season in which Turner graded out above 90 percent.

The ACC’s other weekly honors included Pittsburgh wide receiver Tyler Boyd, linebacker Matt Galambos and rookie Qadree Ollison, and Georgia Tech defensive back Jamal Golden and specialist Lance Austin.

Duke quarterback Thomas Sirk and Louisville defensive lineman Trevon Young rounded out the league’s selections.
