GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Marquise Williams’ record-setting offensive performance highlighted the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Football Player of the Week selections, as announced by the league on Monday.

Williams was recognized as the ACC Offensive Back of the Week after compiling a school-record 524 total yards in the Coastal Division-leading Tar Heels’ 66-31 win over Tobacco Road rival Duke.

Along with receiver Mack Hollins who was named the ACC Receiver of the Week, the two, along with pairs from Clemson and Pitt, each topped the weekly recognition list.

Williams set a school record with 524 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns in less than three quarters of game action.

The 524 yards were the sixth-most in ACC single-game history.

The six-foot-two-inch, 225-pound quarterback eclipsed his own previous UNC record of 469 total yards, which he set against Old Dominion in 2013.

He passed for 494 yards, the most in UNC history, and his 404 yards passing in the first two quarters set another school record for passing yardage in a half.

Williams passed for four touchdowns on plays that covered 89, 74, 49 and 12 yards, and ran for another score while edging upwards to a school-record 83 career touchdowns.

To date, he has 28 rushing scores, a UNC record for a quarterback, 52 touchdown passes, and three receiving TDs.

Hollins had five receptions for a career-high 165 yards and one touchdown in the Tar Heels’ dominating win.

He averaged 33 yards per reception and caught a 74-yard touchdown pass from Williams that pushed the North Carolina lead to 31-10 by the second quarter.

Other weekly honorees included Clemson freshman Mitch Hyatt who picked up ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week accolades for his play in the 23-13 win over FSU that clinched the Tigers’ Atlantic Division berth in the ACC Football Championship Game.

Clemson’s B.J. Goodson earned Linebacker of the Week honors after making 3.5 tackles for loss against the Seminoles.

Panthers’ Ejuan Price was tabbed as Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week and Jordan Whitehead received Rookie of the Week honors.

Also recognized were NC State’s Bradley Chubb (Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week), Louisville’s Trumaine Washington (Defensive Back of the Week), and Virginia’s Ian Frye (Specialist of the Week).

Williams, Hollins, Goodson and Whitehead were each honored for the second time this season.
