RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes will hold their Red-White scrimmage as part of the annual Caniac Carnival kick-off event that will take place at PNC Arena on Friday.

The Hurricanes are coming off three preseason games and will play competitively in front of their fans as part of their training camp itinerary in preparation for the 2014-2015 NHL season.

Running from 4 p.m.-9 p.m., the Caniac Carnival is free and open to the public, with entertainment, food and beverage available inside and outside of the arena.

The always popular Hurricanes autograph session is limited to the first 600 fans, so it is suggested to arrive at 3:45 p.m. to receive a wristband to assume a place in line accordingly.

Television play-by-play broadcaster John Forslund will host a State of the Hurricanes discussion with head coach Bill Peters at 6:15 p.m., which will then be followed up by the Red-White scrimmage that begins at 7:00 p.m.

The scrimmage will consist of two 15-minute periods, with a stopped clock and intermission.

Following the two periods of play, a three-man shootout will continue play to determine the final score of the game.
