RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Tuesday the schedule and roster for the team’s upcoming 2015 training camp that will begin on Thursday.

Twenty players who represented the Hurricanes for the last five days during the NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Mich., will join the main camp – a group that includes forwards Phil Di Giuseppe, Clark Bishop, Brock McGinn, Sergey Tolchinsky, Carter Sandlak, Erik Karlsson, Nicolas Roy, Lucas Wallmark, Spencer Smallman, Steven Lorentz and Niki Petti; defensemen Haydn Fleury, Josh Wesley, Trevor Carrick, Brett Pesce, Roland McKeown, Jaccob Slavin and Tyler Ganly; and goaltenders Callum Booth and Rasmus Tirronen.

Following two practice days in which the team will skate in three groups, the Hurricanes will host the annual Caniac Carnival at PNC Arena on Sunday, including a Red-White scrimmage at 1 p.m.

Carolina opens its 2015 exhibition schedule the following day, traveling to Washington for the first of a back-to-back series against the Capitals and Penguins on Sept. 21 and Sept. 22.

The Hurricanes will then play neutral-site games on Sept. 26 (vs. NY Islanders at Halifax, N.S.), and Sept. 27 (vs. Ottawa at St. John’s, N.F.), before finishing the preseason with home games at PNC Arena against the Capitals on Sept. 30, and the Penguins on Oct. 2.

Carolina wraps up training camp with 11 a.m. practices at Raleigh Center Ice on Oct. 6 and PNC Arena on Oct. 7, before traveling to Nashville for its 2015-16 regular season opener against the Predators on Thurs., Oct. 8.

The Hurricanes host the Detroit Red Wings in their home opener on Sat., Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
