CARY, N.C. – On the heels of their 1-0 U.S. Open Cup overtime win over Major League Soccer’s (MLS) LA Galaxy earlier in the week, the Carolina RailHawks reminded fans to mark their calendars when they host MLS’s FC Dallas in quarterfinal play on Wed., July 9th at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The RailHawks improved their record in Open Cup play to 6-1-2 (W-T-L) under head coach Colin Clarke following a dramatic 120-minute fifth-round game in which rookie Daniel Jackson notched the game-winner in the 105th minute.
The upcoming match against Dallas will take place on the main stadium field after the team took a brief hiatus due to a field re-sodding project that resulted in Carolina topping LA on their secondary Koka Booth Stadium field No. 2 in front of a sold out crowd of 3,000.
“A massive home field advantage will be one of the keys to this match,” RailHawks team president Curt Johnson said.
“Our sold out crowd powered us to victory over the Galaxy and we know the same can happen against an excellent FC Dallas team.”
Tickets for the Cup quarterfinal match were made available on Friday for the game as well as additional North American Soccer League (NASL) Fall Season games.
The team has offered up an FC Dallas Pack that includes a ticket to the FC Dallas match as well as RailHawks Fall games against the New York Cosmos (Sept. 20) and Minnesota United (Nov. 1).
FC Dallas Pack purchasers will be allowed to choose the NASL matches of their choice if they wish to attend a match other than the Sept. 20th or Nov. 1st match.
During the ticket presale that started Friday, Flex Plan Holders were able to purchase tickets and Season Ticket Holders could purchase additional tickets ahead of the general public sale.
Individual tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday at Noon.
