Blue Devils Class, Rowe earn ACC lacrosse weekly honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils midfielders Deemer Class and Kyle Rowe were named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Players of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday.

Class was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Rowe was the Defensive Player of the Week selection.

Class led all Duke scorers over two games against then No. 20 Air Force and No. 5 Syracuse, posting 10 goals and two assists for 12 points.

Class registered his sixth hat trick of the year in a 10-9 overtime loss to the Falcons before a career-high seven goals along with two assists helped top the Orange 16-15 in overtime in the Blue Devils’ ACC opener.

Faceoff specialist Rowe picked up his third ACC honor of the season based on winning 64 percent of his faceoffs and picking up 26 ground balls through week.

Against Air Force, Rowe won 16-of-21 draws (76%) and picked up 13 ground balls while claiming 18-of-32 (56%) faceoffs against Syracuse’s Ben Williams who finished below 50 percent for the first time this season.

Rowe has won 67 percent of his faceoffs, and picked up no fewer than 11 ground balls per game so far this season.
