RALEIGH, NC – All three of the Triangle area’s Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) women’s basketball squads filled the hoop plentifully on Thursday.
Swish all day long
NC State (10-4), Duke (8-6), and UNC (13-3) all posted New Year’s Day wins at home, and outscored their league opponents by a combined 245-150 margin.
The Wolfpack outpaced the Stanford Cardinal 74-46 at Reynolds Coliseum, while the Blue Devils made easy work of the Boston College Eagles, posting a 100-49 win in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Both teams extended their current win streaks to five games straight while sitting atop the ACC standings with Louisville at 3-0 each.
Down the road in Chapel Hill, the No. 16 Tar Heels eventually wore down the visiting Cal Bears, handing them a 71-55 loss at Carmichael Arena for their fourth win in a row.
