

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina Tar Heels tailback Elijah Hood and place-kicker Nick Weiler were named to the 2015 Academic All-ACC Football Team as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Hood, majoring in Information Sciences, is one of seven players named to the Academic All-ACC team who also earned first-team All-ACC honors.
As a sophomore in 2015, he rushed for 1,463 yards, which ranks second on the UNC single-season rushing chart.
Hood scored 17 rushing touchdowns and rushed for 100 yards in a game on seven occasions, including a career-high 220 in a 45-34 win over N.C. State.
Weiler, a Business Administration major made 20 of 23 field goal attempts and set the single-season school record with 127 points, including all 67 extra point attempts.
Weiler also did an outstanding job with kickoffs with 55 touchbacks and was named a Lou Groza Award semifinalist.
North Carolina had a season to remember in 2015, going 11-1 in the regular season and making its first-ever ACC Championship Game appearance.
