CARY, N.C. – For anyone attending Carolina RailHawks games this season, the trip to WakeMed Soccer Park is worth the expense.
The RailHawks (3W-1T-0L, 10pts) edged Minnesota United (1W-1T-2L, 4pts) 1-0 to remain atop the NASL Fall Season standings while extending their home unbeaten streak to 12 matches (11W-1T-0L).
Newly tapped game captain Brian Shriver, the current NASL Player of the Week, registered his league-leading 12th goal of the year in the 52nd minute of play in front of the crowd of 5,201 on hand.
“Tonight was a good result,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said.
“We have done a good job this evening and I am delighted that we got another clean sheet. Overall it was a great result and another three points.”
Carolina will travel over the next two weeks before returning home on Sept. 14 to host the Tampa Bay Rowdies with expectations of continuing their undefeated streak.
