Hurricanes’ Ward, Gleason to participate in Bike Challenge

RALEIGH, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Wednesday that players Cam Ward, Tim Gleason, Jay Harrison, Kevin Westgarth and Nicolas Blanchard, along with Assistant Coach Rod Brind’Amour will be among the 250 cyclists participating in the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic’s 24-Hour Bike Challenge beginning Friday at 5 p.m. and concluding Saturday at 5 p.m.

The event benefits the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation which provides much needed funding to children’s charities and education programs throughout North Carolina.

Riders bike in teams to complete 24 consecutive hours of stationary cycling at the event, which benefits the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

Donations can be made in a rider’s name online.
