SOUTHERN PINES, NC – The course at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club has yielded lower scores than anticipated, some of the record-setting variety at the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open.
One surprise performer remains on top of the leader board, with one of the game’s most acclaimed ball-strikers joining her through 36 holes.
Meanwhile, the top-ranked player in the world is lurking, a mere three shots off the pace as play heads into the weekend.
Mina Harigae and Minjin Lee lead the remaining field of 70 – comprised of 66 pros and four amateurs.
Third-round play begins Saturday at 7:30 a.m., with Harigae and Lee teeing off in the final pairing at 1:44p.m.
