RALEIGH, N.C. – After leading the 14th-ranked N.C. State Wolfpack women’s basketball team to a 24-6 regular season record in his first year, head coach Wes Moore was named ESPNW’s Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Coach of the Year as announced on Tuesday.

Moore’s accomplishments with the Wolfpack to date include earning the program a top-25 ranking for nine straight weeks and its first top-10 ranking since 2001.

The veteran coach’s senior-laden team got off to a 21-3 start and posted the program’s best such beginning since 1981-82 while successfully defending the team’s home court, finishing 14-2 on Kay Yow Court in historic Reynolds Coliseum.

The Wolfpack begins its quest to the postseason, playing its first game as the fourth seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament on Friday.
