Duke Blue Devils – Men’s Basketball
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The fourth-ranked Duke Blue Devils (2-0) travel to face the No. 19 Michigan State State Spartans (1-0) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in the State Farm Champions Classic on Tuesday.
Duke is 2-1 in State Farm Champions Classic games, including a 74-69 win over Michigan State at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15, 2011 in the first year of the event.
Mike Krzyzewski passed Bobby Knight as the winningest Division I men’s basketball coach in NCAA history in that contest.
The Blue Devils have had a great deal of success in Indianapolis over the course of Mike Krzyzewski’s tenure in Durham.
Duke won the 1991 and 2010 NCAA Championships in Indianapolis and are 8-2 overall under Coach K in the city.
The Blue Devils topped the 100-point mark in each of its first two games of the season, shooting over 60.0 percent from the field in both contests.
Seven different Blue Devils have scored in double-figures this season with Quinn Cook, Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow reaching double figures in both contests.
The Blue Devils have converted 35 turnovers into 69 points in the first two games of the year, averaging 1.97 points per possession following an opponent’s turnover.
Duke is shooting 47 percent from three-point range and averaging 12.5 made threes per game after two contests.
Quinn Cook has a team-high seven three-point field goals as six different Blue Devils have made three or more shots from three-point range.

NEWS AND NOTES
OPENING WEEKEND SUCCESS
ACC women’s basketball teams combined for a 20-3 overall record in the opening weekend of play, including a 10-0 mark on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Highlighting the weekend’s victories were Virginia’s 87-82 win over Ohio State and North Carolina’s 84-68 win over No. 23 UCLA.
The ACC went 3-1 over teams from the Power 5 Conferences.
ACC WEEKLY HONORS
Virginia senior center Sarah Imovbioh is this week’s ACC Player of the Week, while Notre Dame forward Brianna Turner has been tabbed the ACC Freshman of the Week, as voted on by the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Imovbioh led the Cavaliers to a pair of wins last weekend, including a season-opening win over Ohio State, 87-82 on Friday, Nov. 14.
The senior from Abuja, Nigeria, set the Virginia single-game rebounding record with 24 boards against the Buckeyes, and accounted for almost half of Virginia’s 51 total rebounds in the game.
In her collegiate debut, Turner rang up game highs of 29 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, all in just 19 minutes of action in the Fighting Irish’s 105-51 win over UMass-Lowell on Nov. 14.
Along the way, Turner shattered the 33-year-old Notre Dame record for points by a freshman in her first college game.
IN THE POLLS
Five ACC teams are among the Top 25 in the latest Associated Press Poll. 2014 National Runner-Up Notre Dame is the highest ranking ACC team at No. 3 followed by Duke at No. 7, North Carolina, at No. 11, Louisville at No. 12 and Syracuse at No 23. NC State, Florida State and Georgia Tech are receiving votes.
BLOCK MACHINE
Duke senior forward/center Elizabeth Williams moved to second on the ACC’s all-time blocks list following her six block performance at Alabama.
The three-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year has 337 blocks for her career. Allison Bales (Duke) holds the career blocks record with 434.
