RALEIGH, N.C. – The Triangle Sports Network (TSn) was born a year ago Thursday with the goal of adding Triangle-area coverage in niche-specific and general sports for local and global readers.

Looking at the numbers that the digital sports-reporting site and media property owned, operated and created by PKS Consulting LLC posted, the first year of operation was a successful one according to the company’s projections.

As a credentialed media entity, TSn brought specialized and original reporting and content of NHL hockey (Carolina Hurricanes), NCAA women’s college basketball (Duke, North Carolina, NC State), ACC Football (Duke), NCAA and MLL lacrosse (Duke, North Carolina, High Point, Charlotte Hounds), PGA, Web.com and LPGA Tour golf (Rex Hospital Open, SAS Championship, U.S. Opens at Pinehurst), NASL soccer (Carolina RailHawks), and also provided readers general college and pro sports coverage as it happened throughout the area.

The online entity hit its targeted local audience marks as significant readership from Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill sat in the Top 10 list of content response, with additional and significant views originating from major media market areas including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and Toronto.

Globally, the Triangle Sports Network also popped up onto screens in 106 countries in six major continents with readers in Europe, South America and Australia topping that segment of the online audience.

It came as no surprise that no one sport or team dominated coverage of the publication’s Top 10, as each took a significant spot on the list which was topped by coverage of Duke women’s basketball, the Carolina RailHawks, Duke football, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Based on the model of creating individualized and specific sport and team networks that emerge and develop content on a daily basis, the Triangle Sports Network will continue to build and grow its brand in the coming year, and work to enhance coverage while adding new networks as readership response and demand continues to grow.
