GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina Tar Heels attackman Joey Sankey earned Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Sankey totaled five points on four goals and an assist in North Carolina’s 10-6 win at No. 6 Virginia last Friday, and shared the honor with Notre Dame’s Conor Doyle who registered a game-high seven points on a career-best three goals and four assists in a 15-10 win at No. 7 Duke on Saturday.

The senior’s first goal gave the Tar Heels a 3-2 lead early in the second quarter, before scoring three of North Carolina’s final four goals en route to the victory over the Cavaliers.

Sankey has scored at least three goals in each of the Tar Heels’ ACC games this season.
