DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman guard/forward Sierra Calhoun has decided to leave Duke University, school officials announced on Sunday.

Calhoun departs Duke in good academic standing and is expected to transfer to another Division I school.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Calhoun had started all 13 games for the 10th-ranked Blue Devils averaging 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals on the season.

“We appreciate Sierra very much and wish her the very best,” said Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie.

Duke was coming off an 87-36 victory over N.C. A&T Friday night, and made the announcement prior to its ACC opener against Wake Forest.

The Blue Devils topped the Demon Deacons 70-63.
