CARY, N.C. The Carolina RailHawks used a strong first half to blank Ottawa Fury FC 3-0 in front of a crowd of 4,294 at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday.

Zack Schilawski tallied two goals during the first 45 minutes, while an early second-half goal from Nazmi Albadawi was enough to earn Carolina its first win in NASL Fall Season play.

After losing four straight matches since a July 9th loss to FC Dallas in U.S. Open Cup Play, the RailHawks finally put together their best offensive effort in recent weeks to earn the shutout win which was credited to goalkeeper Scott Goodwin.

“We put on a great performance tonight,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said afterwards.

“Some great passing movement, scored goals, kept a clean sheet which is just as important.”

Carolina will work to continue to move up the league table from its current seventh place spot (3 points) during its next two games.

The RailHawks will first travel to New York to take on the Cosmos on Aug. 2nd and then return home to host the Tampa Bay Rowdies a week later on Aug. 9th.
