RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina RailHawk’s recent 2-0 win over USL PRO’s Charlotte Eagles during U.S. Open Cup third-round play on Wednesday extended their unbeaten streak at WakeMed Soccer Park to 20 games.

Currently in fifth place, the RailHawks will seek to move up in the North American Soccer League (NASL) standings while defending that streak against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday.

Though Tampa Bay is winless in six matches at WakeMed, they are unbeaten against Carolina in the two team’s most recent matchups.

“We look forward to visiting Carolina because they’re a talented team that always provides a tough test for us,” said Rowdies head coach Ricky Hill.

“There’s still plenty to play for in terms of the combined Spring and Fall seasons, so our guys understand that this is an important match for our season and achieving what we want to achieve.”

The last time both squads faced each other in Cary was back on Sept. 14, 2013 in a match that resulted in a 2-2 draw.

“We’re looking forward to getting back into league action after playing in the U.S. Open Cup,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said.

“Tampa Bay is always a tough match and we’ve had some very good games between the clubs.  The fans are going to get a great match Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park.”
