DURHAM, N.C. – The10th-ranked Duke Blue Devils ended their non-conference schedule with a resounding 87-36 win over N.C. A&T at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday.

Duke (9-4) posted a season-high 26 assists while converting a season-high 58 percent from the field.

Freshmen Rebecca Greenwell and Azurá Stevens led Duke with 20 and 19 points, respectively, while senior All-America Elizabeth Williams dished out a career-high seven assists.

Duke held A&T (7-7) to 21-percent shooting and 16 second half points while dominating on the boards by a 45-31 margin.

With the win, the Blue Devils moved the all-time series against the Aggies to 2-0 while winning their 138th straight home game against an unranked opponent.

“Just some good things to work on,” Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie said.

“I love 26 assists for our team. I love ball movement. I love finding each other. I love that we had two post players lead us in assists and find their teammates. I thought Becca (Greenwell) played aggressive and hard and was really attacking. I thought Azura (Stevens) did the same. But that’s a big stat for us, because we have to get back to more assists. So 26 is important. Fifteen turnovers isn’t really what we wanted, 11 or less, but it was in the range of us getting better. So it was just a building game for us. We were working on certain things to get better. We’re looking forward to applying what we’re working on to Sunday.”

Duke will begin Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play when it hosts Wake Forest at Cameron on Sunday.
