CARY, N.C.– As of Monday, only a few hundred tickets remained in lawn seating for Tuesday night’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match between the Carolina RailHawks and four-time MLS-champion LA Galaxy at WakeMed Soccer Park Koka Booth Stadium, Field #2.

The RailHawks’ main field was unavailable due to a previously scheduled re-sodding project that was underway, so to accommodate the demand for the match in the secondary venue, standing-room only and on-field seating was added.

“As we expected, the tickets to Tuesday’s match versus the LA Galaxy with Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane have been in high demand,” Team President Curt Johnson said.

“We want to give our fans the opportunity to attend this high-level match. Opening up these new seating opportunities at Koka Booth Stadium Field 2 allows us to do that.”

Johnson and the RailHawks got creative considering the field situation and also provided on-field seating that would include a bar-height seat and table located on the East sideline to provide some of the best views of the field.

In addition to general admission bleacher and grass-area seating, standing-room only tickets were also made available to allow fans to watch the match from the East Concourse of the field.

“The Galaxy have been one of the best teams in the United States for the past 10 years,” RailHawks coach Colin Clarke said.

“It’s always a great opportunity going up against them in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and it will be a great match for our fans. We expect a tough match and it will be a challenge, but we are looking forward to it.”

Carolina reached this year’s Round-of-16 after topping Major League Soccer’s (MLS) CD Chivas USA on penalty kicks following a 1-1- draw on June 14 at WakeMed.

The two teams will kick off at 7:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Cup quarterfinals against the winner of the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and FC Dallas (MLS) match.
