Hurricanes recall Di Giuseppe from Charlotte

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes recalled forward Phil Di Giuseppe from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Monday.

The Hurricanes’ second round pick (38th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Di Giuseppe made his league debut on Dec. 5 in the Hurricanes’ game against Montreal.

Before suffering a concussion on Jan. 2 against Nashville, he had posted three goals and earned five assists (8 points) in 14 games.

After being cleared to play, Di Giuseppe was reassigned to Charlotte on Friday where he subsequently scored a goal and earned an assist in the Checkers’ 4-1 home win against Manitoba on Sunday.

He returns to the Hurricanes having totaled seven goals and nine assists (16 points) in 22 AHL games played this season.
