GREENSBORO, N.C.– Duke Blue Devils running back Shaun Wilson earned another weekly honor following his record-breaking performance on Saturday against Kansas as he was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

On Sunday, Wilson was selected as the National Freshman of the Week by Athlon Sports.

The ACC honor is the first for Wilson, who is the first Duke freshman to receive the league’s rookie of the week honor since DeVon Edwards earned his back in November 2013.

During Duke’s 41-3 home victory against the Jayhawks, Wilson turned in a school single-game record 245 rushing yards with three touchdowns on just 12 carries.

The yardage total, which eclipsed Robert Baldwin’s previous school record of 238 yards set against Maryland in 1994, also ranks as the fourth-highest single-game total by a freshman in ACC history.

Overall, the rushing yardage total marks the 27th-highest single-game total in ACC history.

Wilson’s 245 rushing yards mark the third-highest single-game total in FBS action this season behind only South Florida’s Marlon Mack (275 vs. Western Carolina) and Indiana’s Tevin Coleman (247 vs. Indiana State).

The ACC’s other weekly honors included Boston College offensive back Tyler Murphy, offensive lineman Andy Gallik and linebacker Josh Keyes. Virginia defensive back Anthony Harris and specialist Ian Frye, Miami receiver Phillip Dorsett and Wake Forest defensive lineman Josh Banks rounded out the list of league selections.
