GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils quarterback Thomas Sirk was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Back of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

The honor was the first of Sirk’s career and the sixth for the Blue Devils program this season.

Sirk’s performance helped Duke to a 45-43 four-overtime win at Virginia Tech on Saturday as he guided Duke’s offensive attack that generated 449 total yards and 20 first downs while committing zero turnovers and allowing zero sacks.

The redshirt junior pivot threw for 270 yards and a career-high four touchdowns while adding a personal-best 109 rushing yards against the Hokies.

Sirk’s most significant play was earning the two-point PAT in the fourth overtime period that extended Duke’s record to 3-0 in the ACC, 6-1 overall, making the Blue Devils bowl-eligible for the fourth straight season.

The ACC’s other weekly honors included Pittsburgh wide receiver Tyler Boyd, linebacker Matt Galambos and rookie Qadree Ollison, and Georgia Tech defensive back Jamal Golden and specialist Lance Austin.

North Carolina offensive lineman Landon Turner and Louisville defensive lineman Trevon Young rounded out the league’s selections.
