DURHAM, N.C. – The 2013 NCAA lacrosse champion Duke Blue Devils squad was reunited at homecoming and honored in between the first and second quarters of the football team’s game against the Troy Trojans at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday.

Current and graduated members of the team got back together and gave fans in attendance the opportunity to receive autographed posters from them at halftime.

NCAA Championship game Most Outstanding Player Brendan Fowler was a dual-sport athlete last season, playing on both the football and lacrosse teams, but as a scholarship athlete with the lacrosse team for the upcoming season, he no longer plays football.

However, it was Fowler who led the football team onto the gridiron carrying a large blue Duke flag while also getting the chance to slap hands and exchange hugs with his former teammates as they prepared to kick off.

Even though it was the Duke football team’s day to shine, the championship men’s lacrosse squad was provided some of the spotlight for the day as well.

“It’s amazing to get these rings as the culmination of an amazing season,” rising senior attackman Jordan Wolf said.

“The biggest part of this weekend is just having everyone back. Getting that ring and having these (graduated) seniors back, has made for a special weekend. We’re all having a great time being together again.”

Beside Wolf stood new alumnus and former team captain Josh Offit, who was equally as happy to be back on campus to share in the festivities with his former mates.

“It’s a special way to really put some closure on the season,” Offit said.

“Pass the torch on to the new seniors. It’s going to be really special to watch them play this year.”
