GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils senior placekicker Ross Martin was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Specialist of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.

Martin received the honor, his second of his career, after helping Duke to a 9-7 win against Boston College on Saturday by scoring three field goals.

He equaled his career longest kick with a 53-yard field goal, good for the fifth longest conversion in the nation this season, and the longest in the ACC.

Martin also kicked field goals covering 36 and 38 yards.

His three field goals propelled Duke to its first win without a touchdown since a 3-0 victory against Wake Forest in 1978.

Martin also moved into sole possession of second place on Duke’s all-time chart for field goals of 50 or more yards with the fifth of his career.

Notes: The ACC’s other weekly honors included North Carolina’s quarterback Marquise Williams and offensive lineman Caleb Peterson as well as Clemson’s defensive lineman Kevin Dodd and linebacker B.J. Goodson. Wake Forest receiver Cam Serigne, Pitt defensive back Terrish Webb, Florida State defensive back Trey Marshall and Louisville rookie Lamar Jackson completed the league’s selections.
