Duke guard Liston finishes second in State Farm 3-Point competition

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball senior Tricia Liston placed second overall in the 2014 State Farm College Three-Point Championship that took place at Moody Coliseum on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas on Thursday.

Liston, scored 19 points in the preliminary round and advanced to the semifinals, accumulated a competition-best 24 points, and moved on to the final round.

The 6-foot-1-inch guard went up against Louisville’s three-point specialist Shoni Schimmel, and came up short in capturing the overall title, losing 22-16.

A 2014 Associated Press All-America, Liston averaged 17.2 points per game and shot 48.1 percent (87-for-181) from beyond the arc while setting a Duke single-season record for three-pointers made.

As a team leader, Liston wrapped up her career with the Blue Devils ranking first in school history and seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) record books with 252 three-pointers, and doing so with a 45.9-percent conversion rate (252-for-549) from long distance.
