DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils forward Azurá Stevens was selected the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Week following a vote of the Blue Ribbon Panel on Monday.

For the second straight week and the fourth time this season, Stevens’ selection now ranks as the fourth-most in a single-season by a Duke rookie – sitting amongst a group that includes Elizabeth Williams (9), Alana Beard (7), Monique Currie (5).

Stevens closed with a game-high 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds in an 81-80 victory against 15th-ranked North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

The domineering six-foot-five-inch forward added three assists, two blocks and one steal, while hitting 8-of-14 field goals against the Triangle-area rival.

For the week, Stevens averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks.

Duke will open ACC Tournament play in the quarterfinals on Friday as the No. 4 seed, and will play the winner of fifth-seeded Syracuse or 13th-seeded Wake Forest.
