DURHAM, N.C. – Azurá Stevens was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) women’s basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Stevens led Duke to the Mayan Tournament title last weekend at the Cancun Challenge in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

She was named the tournament’s MVP after totaling 55 points, 22 rebounds, seven blocks, and five assists in the Blue Devils’ victories over Idaho, Iowa State, and Texas State.

She posted her fourth consecutive double-double in last Thursday’s 74-68 win over the Vandals, scoring 22 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.

Stevens was also Duke’s top scorer in an 85-34 defeat of Texas State, leading a balanced offensive effort with 19 points in 22 minutes of action.

For the tournament, Stevens averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two assists.

She enters this week leading the ACC in rebounds per game (10) and double-doubles (4), and is also ranked seventh in the country with the four double-double performances.

The ACC Player of the Week honor was the first for Stevens, who earned four selections as the ACC Freshman of the Week last season.

She was also an All-ACC Second Team and All-ACC Freshman Team selection during the 2014-15 season.

Stevens and the Blue Devils return to Cameron Indoor Stadium and host the Minnesota Golden Gophers in ACC/BIG Ten Challenge play on Thursday.
