CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –   The fourth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels will begin the upcoming 2015 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament as the No. 3 seed, and will host the Patriot League champion and 13th-ranked Colgate Raiders at Fetzer Field on Sunday.

Carolina’s seeding is its highest since it was the top seed back in 1993, the last time the Tar Heels advanced to NCAA Championship Weekend.

The first-round game will mark the fourth-ever meeting between the two teams as the Tar Heels hold a clean 3-0 record against the Raiders.

The last time the two teams faced off against one another was on Feb. 22, 2009 when North Carolina claimed an 11-9 win at Fetzer.

The Tar Heels head into the 2015 Tournament with a 12-3 overall record, most recently coming off a 9-8 loss to Syracuse in the ACC Tournament semifinals on Apr. 24.

The Red Raiders carry a 10-5 record into NCAA postseason play, after earning their automatic bid by winning the Patriot League Championship with an 11-8 victory over Army on Apr. 26.

The winner will move on to the second round of play at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. on Sun., May 17 to face the winner of sixth-ranked and No. 6 seed Maryland (12-3) and 11th-ranked Yale (11-4).
