DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils sophomore Celine Boutier was named one of four finalists for the Honda Sports Award for women’s golf as announced by Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) on Wednesday.

It’s been quite a month for the Duke sophomore and native of Montrouge, France.

Not only did she help lead Duke to its sixth NCAA Championship, she qualified to compete in the upcoming 2014 U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, as well as subsequently being named the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) National Player of the Year following a runner-up placement at the NCAA Championship played in Tulsa Okla.

She totaled a 71.50 stroke average, three victories, six top-five finishes and seven top-10 placements on the year while receiving recognition as ACC Player of the Year, leading Duke with 20 rounds of even or under par play, including seven rounds in the 60s.

Should Boutier win the award, she would add her name to the list of Duke golfers who have and includes Amanda Blumenherst (2007-08, 2006-07), Anna Grzebien (2004-05), Virada Nirapathpongporn (2001-02) and Candy Hannemann (2000-01).
