RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Sunday that the team had returned forward Martin Necas to HC Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga, the top professional league in the Czech Republic.

Carolina’s first-round selection (12th overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft, Necas appeared in one regular-season game for the Hurricanes this season, making his NHL debut on Oct. 17 against Edmonton.

The 18-year-old, hailing from Nove Mesto na Morave, Czech Republic, will look to build on seven goals and eight assists (15 points) posted in 41 regular-season games with Brno in 2016-17.
