RALEIGH, N.C. – Back in January, it was announced that Carolina Hurricanes former captain and current assistant coach Rod Brind’Amour was to be inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.

On Friday night, that became official as Brind’Amour joined Ron Francis, the team’s executive vice president and general manager, three years later as the second hockey player ever inducted.

It was the Hurricanes’ third recognition in the NC Sports Hall of Fame after the 2006 Stanley Cup-winning team which Brind’Amour led was recognized in 2012.
