Hurricanes agree to terms with Di Giuseppe

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Thursday that the team had agreed to terms with forward Phil Di Giuseppe on a one-year contract.

The deal will pay Di Giuseppe $725,000 at the National Hockey League (NHL) level, or $125,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level, in 2017-18.

The 23-year-old Di Giuseppe scored one goal and added six assists (7 points) in 36 games for the Hurricanes during the 2016-17 season.

He also appeared in 40 AHL games with the Charlotte Checkers, tallying 12 goals and 16 assists (28 points).

Selected by the Hurricanes in the second round (38th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Di Giuseppe has totaled 24 points (8g, 16a) in 77 career NHL games.

Prior to turning pro, he played three seasons at the University of Michigan, posting 78 points (33g, 45a) in 115 career collegiate games.
