DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils safety Jeremy Cash was named to the CBS Sports Preseason All-America Second Team on Tuesday.

It is the fifth preseason All-America team Cash has been placed on as he was also a first team pick by Phil Steele Magazine and a second team selection by Sporting News, Lindy’s and Athlon.

Cash recorded 111 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 quarterback sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, five quarterback pressures, four caused fumbles, and one fumble recovery as a team captain in 2014.

He finished last season as the only defensive back in the nation to record 100-plus tackles, 10-plus tackles for loss, and five-plus sacks while becoming Duke’s first All-American in consecutive campaigns since Clarkston Hines in 1988-89.

Cash was a 2014 Walter Camp Foundation, Football Writers Association of America and Phil Steele second team selection and a 2013 USA Today second team honoree, and will enter his senior year ranked seventh among FBS active players in total tackles per game (8.59), eighth in solo tackles per game (4.89) and tied for third in forced fumbles per game (0.22).
