2016 NHL Draft: Carolina Hurricanes select forward Matt Felipe 67th overall

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Carolina Hurricanes selected forward Matt Felipe with their fourth selection, 67th overall, at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft held at First Niagara Center on Saturday.

The six-foot-two-inch, 196-pound left winger posted 19 goals and 17 assists in 56 regular season games and added three points (1g, 2a) in five playoff games with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders during his first United States Hockey League (USHL) season.

He led team rookies in goals, assists and points, and earned USHL All-Rookie Second Team honors.

With U.S. National Team experience, earning a bronze medal at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial tournament, Felipe is committed to Northeastern University (NCAA) for the 2016-17 season.
