RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State Wolfpack women’s basketball team remained undefeated at home by beating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 74-69 at Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday.

The Wolfpack (20-3, 7-2) won its 13th consecutive game this season on Kay Yow Court, and reached the 20-win plateau for the 23rd time since the program’s first squad stepped onto the floor during the 1974-75 season.

Senior guard Myisha Goodwin-Coleman surpassed 1,000 career points in the win, finishing with 16 points on a 4-of-8 performance from beyond the arc to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while a troika of her teammates finished with double-digit performances to earn the benchmark win – Markeisha Gatling (19 points, 3 rebounds), Len’Nique Brown (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Kody Burke (14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists).

Tied at halftime (33-33) with the Demon Deacons (12-11, 3-7) who were led by Chelsea Douglas (17 points, 2 rebounds), Dearica Hamby (15 points, 5 rebounds) and Millesa Calicott (13 points), NC State’s quartet led a variety of scoring runs to outdistance themselves enough from a relentless opponent to earn the victory.

Becoming only the third team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) to reach 20 overall wins this season, the Wolfpack now sits in third place in the league standings behind only the second-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (22-0, 9-0) and the fifth-ranked Duke Blue Devils (22-2, 9-1).
