Duke highlights ESPN women’s basketball in 2013-14

DURHAM, N.C. ­– On Monday, ESPN announced a new Sunday afternoon package as well as ESPN2’s Big Monday slate with the Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball team featured five times during the upcoming 2013-14 season.

For ESPN2 Big Monday, Duke will host two contests on Feb. 10 and Feb. 17 with the North Carolina Tar Heels and Maryland Terrapins respectively traveling to face the Blue Devils in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils will also be featured in three contests on the new ESPN Sunday package with the first coming on Feb. 2 in a home game against new Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) member, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

On Feb. 23, the Blue Devils make a trip to South Bend, Ind. to face the Irish, and will close the regular season on Mar. 2 at in Chapel Hill against the Tar Heels.

All three games will be aired on ESPN and accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members, and on Apple TV to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Duke will return five starters this season and 93.7 percent of its scoring.

The Blue Devils welcome back All-America selections Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams along with All-ACC performers Tricia Liston and Haley Peters.

Freshman All-America and ACC Tournament MVP Alexis Jones will round out the returning starting roster.

A total of 11 letter winners return to the squad as head coach Joanne P. McCallie enters her seventh season leading the Blue Devils.
