DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils alumnae Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams were selected by WNBA head coaches as reserves for the 2017 WNBA All-Star game to be played on Saturday at KeyArena in Seattle.

As announced Tuesday evening live on ESPN2, Gray, in her first full season as a starter for the Los Angeles Sparks, will represent the Western Conference, while Williams, who is the reigning WNBA Most Improved Player from the Atlanta Dream, will compete for the Eastern Conference.

Gray and Williams will join Duke alumna Jasmine Thomas (Connecticut Sun) who was selected as a starter for the Eastern Conference in the game.

Of the 2017 selections, Duke and Connecticut (6) are the only schools to feature three or more players.

The Blue Devils trio will each be making their first appearances in the WNBA All-Star game, and represent the largest contingent of former Duke players in one all-star game as Monique Currie and Lindsey Harding were the two selected to the 2010 contest.

Prior to 2017, Duke had featured only three WNBA All-Stars total as Alana Beard was also selected in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

A 2014 graduate, Gray leads the WNBA with a 50.9 three-point shooting percentage, converting 29-of-57 attempts on the season to date.

She also ranks 13th in scoring (15.8) and 10th in assists (4.2).

Williams, a 2015 grad, is in her third year in the WNBA and playing her second season with the Dream.

She currently ranks third in blocks (2.0), eighth in rebounding, and 43rd in scoring (10.2).

Thomas, who received a Duke degree in 2011, has drained 38-of-83 three-pointers for a 45.8 shooting percentage in that category on the season for the Sun.

Notes: In selecting the reserves, the 12 WNBA head coaches voted for six players in their own conference: two guards, three frontcourt players and a player at either position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players on their own team…The WNBA also announced the five competitors who will participate in the three-point contest All-Star weekend, which includes Thomas. Also selected were Sue Bird (Seattle), Maya Moore (Minnesota), Allie Quigley (Chicago) and Sugar Rodgers (New York).
