DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball held its 2017-2018 Blue-White Scrimmage at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

White dominated Blue by a 111-50 margin.

“I thought it was fun for the team to get out and play a little bit and run,” head coach Joanne P. McCallie said.

“With everyone playing so many minutes, it’s fun to see who is in condition to do that, or who may not be. But I saw some really good leadership in Lexie [Brown] and Rebecca [Greenwell] in particular. I think everyone grew a little bit, and that’s the important thing. We got better today.”

As a team, Duke shot 50 percent from the floor and recorded 48-percent three-point shooting over four quarters.

Redshirt senior Rebecca Greenwell led all players with 33 points, finishing 13-of-20 from the field, and tallying seven rebounds and six steals.

Guard Lexie Brown added 24 points, shooting 10-of-13 from the floor – 4-of-5 which she posted from behind the arc to go along with 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Sophomore Leaonna Odom totaled 22 points while freshman Jayda Adams dropped 16 points in her debut in Cameron.

Senior forward Erin Mathias and redshirt senior Bego Faz Davalos collected nine and seven rebounds respectively, while redshirt sophomore Haley Gorecki, who sat out last season due to injury, added 12 points with freshman Jade Williams following up with 10 points.

The Blue Devils next prepare for a home exhibition matchup against Alaska Anchorage on Sun., Nov. 5 before opening the 2017-18 season on the road a week later (Nov. 12) at Grand Canyon.
