ACC Football: Wolfpack keeps pace in 33-16 win over Demon Deacons

RALEIGH, N.C. – The N.C. State Wolfpack took control from its opening possession and cruised to a 33-16 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday.

Following Matt Dayes’ six-yard rush and Kyle Bambard’s PAT to put the Wolfpack ahead 7-0 at the 11:32 mark, N.C. State continued to steadily add scores throughout, and handed the Demon Deacons their first loss of the season.

Jaylen Samuels’ 13-yard touchdown reception put the Wolfpack ahead 17-0 with 4:24 left in the opening quarter.

N.C. State led 23-9 at halftime.

Quarterback Ryan Finley completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for 300 yards and three touchdowns, finding Kelvin Harmon open twice for touchdown throws of 36 and seven yards, respectively, to eventually finalize the Wolfpack’s first ACC win of the season.
